Birthday Sheet Cake

Ingredients

  1. 1 cup of butter
  2. 1 ½ cup of sugar
  3. 3 large eggs
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  5. 1 ½ cup of milk
  6. 2⅓ cups of flour
  7. 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder

For frosting

  1. Butter
  2. Milk
  3. Icing sugar
  4. Vanilla essence
  5. Sprinkles

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time and mix.
  4. Add vanilla.
  5. Add half the milk and four and mix.
  6. Add the remaining milk and flour and mix
  7. Pour into a greased sheet pan and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven and cool completely on a wire rack.
  9. Prepare the frosting and cover the cake and decorate as you wish.
  10. Enjoy.

Homemade Bread

Ingredients

  1. 3 cups white bread flour
  2. 1⅓ lukewarm water
  3. 1 packet yeast
  4. 2 teaspoon of salt
  5. 3 tablespoons of sugar
  6. 3 tablespoons  of olive oil

Directions

  1. Add flour into a mixing bowl.
  2. Add yeast and salt on the opposite sides of the bowl and mix with flour.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, add water, sugar and olive oil and mix until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Pour the water mixture into the flour mixture and mix until you form a ball of dough. You may not need to use all the water, so reserve a little bit or you may need extra water if your dough is too dry.
  5. Place the dough into a lightly oiled bowl, cover with cling wrap and a kitchen towel and place in a warm place and let it rise overnight up to 12-18 hours.
  6. Gently reshape into a ball, flour the dough and place into a floured bowl, cover with cling wrap and a kitchen towel and proof for another hour.
  7. Preheat the dutch oven in the oven at 220°C for 30 minutes.
  8. Gently place the dough into a floured dutch oven, score the dough, reduce the oven to 200°C
    and bake for 30 minutes with the lid on, then remove the lid and bake further for 30-60 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and cool completely on a wire rack.
  10. Enjoy.

Peanut Butter and Banana Bread

Peanut butter banna bread

Ingredients

  1. 1 large banana
  2. ⅓ cup peanut butter
  3. 1 cup buttermilk
  4. 1 egg
  5. 1 cup sugar
  6. 1 ½ cup flour
  7. 1 teaspoon baking powder
  8. ½ teaspoon baking soda
  9. 1 teaspoon vanilla

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°
  2. In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda) and sugar and set aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, mash the banana, whisk in egg, vanilla, buttermilk and peanut butter.
  4. Add in the dry ingredients and mix well.
  5. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake for 35-40 minutes.
  6. Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack before removing from the pan.
  7. Enjoy.

3 Ingredient Energy Balls

Ingredients

  1. 10 dates, pitted
  2. ⅓ cup peanut butter
  3. ⅓ cup quick cooking oats

Directions

  1. Add the dates into a food process and process for about 1 minute.
  2. Add peanut butter and oats and process until it roughly forms a dough.
  3. Roll the dough into balls of your preferred size.
  4. Place in the fridge to set for 30 minutes.
  5. Enjoy.

Hummus

Ingredients

  1. Chickpeas
  2. ¼ cup Sesame seeds
  3. 1 clove of Garlic
  4. ¼ cup olive oil
  5. 2 tablespoon lemon juice
  6. Salt and pepper to taste
  7. Water(Optional)

Directions

  1. Toast the sesame seeds in a pan for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Transfer to a food processor and blend until smooth.
  3. Add all the other ingredients and blend again until smooth.
  4. Add water, a little bit at a time if you need to thin it out.
  5. To serve, drizzle with olive oil.
  6. Enjoy.
