Ingredients
- 2 cups self-raising flour
- 2 teaspoon ginger
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup dark brown sugar
- ½ cup syrup
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tablespoon buttermilk
Frosting
- Icing sugar
- Butter
- Cream cheese
- Vanilla
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Mix all the dry ingredients and set aside.
- In a separate bowl and all the wet ingredients except water and mix well.
- Add flour and mix, and water and mix well.
- Pour into a greased pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and cool for a while before removing from the pan and cooling completely on the wire rack.
- Prepare the frosting and frost the cake.
- Enjoy.
